The eight questions for DevOps and Cloud

The guided builder asks these, in this order, and turns each answer into a line on the page. Nothing is written that you did not type.

  1. 1.How many services, clusters or environments do you run, and on which cloud?
  2. 2.What uptime or availability do you deliver, and what was it before you?
  3. 3.How much cloud cost do you manage, and how much have you reduced it?
  4. 4.Which tools do you use daily for infrastructure as code, CI and CD, and monitoring?
  5. 5.How often does your team deploy, and how long does a deployment take?
  6. 6.How many incidents have you been on call for, and what did you fix permanently?
  7. 7.How many engineers or teams depend on the platform you run?
  8. 8.What is the largest migration, upgrade or rebuild you have delivered?

Words are the easy half

A resume can carry every term above and still be rejected, because coverage says what you know and nothing about what you delivered. The heaviest category on the rubric is evidence: how many of your bullets carry an actual figure.

Seven in ten is full marks. Most resumes we see manage two.
